Woda opadła, ale zagubionych zwierząt wciąż przybywa. Cudem ocalały, ale żywioł zabrał im domy, rozłączył z rodzinami. Ranne, głodne, zdezorientowane i przerażone… nie wiedzą, gdzie się podziać… nie rozumieją co się dzieje. Chcemy im pomóc połączyć się z ich rodzinami, albo znaleźć dla nich nowe domy. Wiele z nich potrzebuje pomocy medycznej, karmy; a te ze szczególnie silną traumą, potrzebują zajęć z behawiorystą. Koszty są astronomiczne. Bez wsparcia darczyńców nie sposób je pokryć.

To kolejna powódź, z jaką fundacja “Mrunio” zetknęła się w czasie swej 19-letniej działalności. Jak niepokonany jest napór fali powodziowej i jakie spustoszenie pozostawia za sobą, przekonałam się w 2009 r. Wtedy, nie tylko moja rodzina i mój dom były zagrożone, ale dziesiątki zwierząt, które fundacja miała pod swoją opieką w Ośrodku Opiekuńczo-Adopcyjnym w Kłodzku i w rodzinach zastępczych. Pamiętam z jaką bezsilnością obserwowałam podnoszący się poziom wody w Nysie Kłodzkiej i w Jaszkówce płynącej przez środek naszej wsi. Pamiętam to dławiące uczucie strachu i niepewności co wydarzy się w ciągu kolejnych godzin… ba, kolejnych minut.
Woda zalała i doszczętnie zniszczyła wszystkie posesje w pobliżu koryta Jaszkówki. Nasi sąsiedzi stracili cały dobytek. Posesje położone dalej (i wyżej) zalewała woda płynąca z pól. Żywioł zniszczył większość mostków, odcinając możliwość dojazdu do posesji znajdujących się po drugiej stronie potoku (między innymi naszej); jak i możliwość ucieczki stamtąd.
Dom nasz cudem ocalał, moja rodzina również.

Dzięki zaangażowaniu naszych wolontariuszy udało się uratować wszystkich naszych podopiecznych. Szczególnie zasłużoną osobą w ratowaniu zwierząt był Pan Fredek, który nie pomyślał nawet o wzięciu portfela ze stołu, ale wyniósł wszystkie koty i psy, które były pod jego opieką. Jestem pewna, że takich bohaterów było o wiele więcej. Wszystkim im skłaniam się nisko w wyrazach największego szacunku i podziwu.

The water has descended, but the number of lost animals is still growing. They miraculously survived from drowning, but flood wave took their homes, separated them from their families. Injured, hungry, disoriented and terrified... they don't know where to go... they don't understand what's happening.

We want to help them reunite with their families, or find new homes for them. Many of them need medical help, food; and those with particularly severe trauma need behaviorist therapy. The costs are astronomical. Without the support of donors, there is no way to cover them.

This is another flood that "Mrunio" Foundation was faced with during its 19-years of activity. I found out in 2009 how insurmountable the flood wave is and what devastation it leaves behind. At that time, not only my family and my home were at risk, but also dozens of animals that the Foundation had under its care in Care and Adoption Center in Kłodzko and in foster families. I remember how helplessly I felt, watching the rising water level in Nysa Klodzka river and Jaszkówka brook, flowing through the middle of our village. I remember the suffocating feeling of fear and uncertainty about what would happen in the next hours... nay, the next minutes.
All properties near Jaszkówka stream bed were flooded and completely destroyed. Our neighbors lost all their belongings. Properties located further away (and higher up) were flooded by water flowing from the fields. The force of the flood destroyed most of the bridges, cutting off access to properties located on the other side of the stream (including ours); as well as the possibility of escape from there.
Our house miraculously survived, and so did my family, and so did our animals.
Thanks to the commitment of our volunteers, we managed to save all of the animals in our charge. A particularly distinguished person in saving animals was Mr. Fredek, who did not even think about taking his wallet from the table, but carried out all the cats and dogs that were under his care. I am sure that there were many more such heroes. I BOW LOW to all of them to express of my greatest respect and admiration.
